At the successful completion of Health and Safety for Construction course, trainees will be able to demonstrate knowledge of an organization’s health and safety procedures, and essential knowledge for anyone who oversees or manages safety, health and environmental risks associated with construction activities. . The course will also cover control strategies, risk assessments and the production of method statements.

• Local Health and safety law and enforcement

• Preparing for Work

• General management of the site, workers and contractors including for example:

the importance of method statements

• Working platforms and ladders

• Permit to Work

• Management, use and stability of scaffolds

• Roofs and Fragile surfaces

• Managing environmental aspects

• Personal Protective equipment

• Site requirements for the welfare of construction workers on site

• Fall arrest and suspension equipment.

• Risk assessments

• Method statements

• Permits to work

 

Who Should Attend

 

Anyone who oversees or manages safety, health and environmental risks associated with construction activities or who wish to act as Safety Supervisors or become involved in health and safety and injury prevention over a wide range of building and construction activities and environments.
