This course is designed to give participants the necessary skills and knowledge to enhance skills, enabling tasks to be performed by lifting and slinging components and equipment in a safe and correct manner.
Objectives:
By the end of this course participants will be able to:
• Recognize safe working loads and lifting capabilities and limitations
• Recognize safe working procedures
• Recognize the recommended crane signals.
• Selecting and using chains and chain slings
• Using ‘Safe Working Load’ Charts
• Slinging and moving loads
• Calculating the weights and centers of gravity of loads and taking these factors into account of slinging and moving

Any employee who may be required to sling and lift workplace equipment as part of their normal work activities
